Storymap: 7 stories of 7 years of armed conflict in eastern Ukraine

Since then, more than 3,300 civilians have been killed, more than 7,000 injured and over a million uprooted from their homes. The conflict has had a devastating impact on elderly people - many of whom were trapped in their homes during fighting.
There are real people and stories behind these numbers. Let us take you to villages along the contact line to meet Valentina, Zinaida, Nadiia, Valentina, Nadiia and Ivan, Vira and Antonina who have been living on the last active frontline in Europe for almost 8 years.
The ACCESS Consortium partners in the framework of ACCESS project implemented by international and national organizations: People in Need, Médicos del Mundo, ACTED in partnership with IMPACT Initiatives, Right to Protection and HelpAge provide multi-sectoral humanitarian assistance to conflict-affected populations of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions on the both sides of the contact line in eastern Ukraine with financial support from the European Union.
