For the past four years, People in Need has aided a number of NGOs in Ukraine, especially in Crimea. Throughout the years, PIN has continued to push for the enforcement of fundamental human rights in Ukraine. This past December, the wave of demonstrators surged when the Ukrainian government decided not to sign an association agreement with the European Union. In response to this motion, over 500,000 protesters flooded Kiev’s main square and also began to expand into other Ukrainian cities.
In January, the situation took a turn for the worse when the violent clashes began between the armed forces and protesters. With the help of Club of Friends, People in Need provided ample support to the victims of the violent conflicts in the form of medical and legal assistance. Additionally, a MEDIVAC team has been dispatched by the Ministry of the Interior to aid patients who are in dire need of surgery as a result of the recent Majdan riots.
We are currently assessing the needs of families who lost loved ones during the demonstrations in Ukraine. Those who are selected will receive material and financial aid from People in Need. However, we need your help to mend the lives of those who have suffered through these difficult times. Make a contribution today, and make a difference.
