Oleg Sentsov, the Ukrainian film director imprisoned in Russian Siberia, is on a hunger strike for the twenty-second day today. Sentsov was jailed for 20 years on charges of terrorism.
Sentsov has been on hunger strike since May 14, saying he will stop only if all Ukrainian political prisoners held on the Russian territory are released. There are 64 such prisoners in Russia and the annexed Crimea.
People in Need supports Oleg Sentsov and asks for his immediate release. Sentencing individuals based on their opinions and their criticism of human rights violations is inadmissible.
