People in Need invites you to CAMP, Prague, for an event on the occasion of the Human Rights Day.

On December 11 from 6 pm we will screen the documentary "Golden Dawn: A Personal Affair" and then we will discuss the growing popularity of extremist and populist movements in Europe.

This year, Human Rights Day makes us think whether and how are human rights violated in Europe, and what are the reasons behind the growing popularity of movements and parties that openly proclaim hatred. Who are the supporters of the ultranationalist party Golden Dawn in Greece, the third strongest party in the Hellenic Parliament? What shapes their opinions? What are they afraid of? And do we see similar trends elsewhere in Europe? How can we step up against extremism and hatred in today’s society?

Speakers:
journalist and historian Marc Reynebeau (Belgium)
political philosopher Evert van der Zweerde (Netherlands)
journalist Kateřina Šafaříková (Czech Republic)
