Documentary movie “Red Soul” in Café Langhans

December 10, 2018 marks the 70th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In many places, fundamental human rights are still being violated, and freedom in the world, according to Freedom House, has been deteriorating for more than a decade. It is even more important in these days to stand for the protection of human dignity, the rule of law and democracy, in which people themselves can make decisions about their lives.

On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, People in Need in cooperation with Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Delegation of Flanders organizes screening of a documentary movie “Red Soul”.

We chose documentary movie, that shows view of nowadays Russians on the rule of Joseph Stalin. While at the end of the 1980s, Stalin was considered a hero by 8 per cent of Russians, according to new surveys, this figure recently grew to 52 percent. What do today's Russians admire in the Stalin era and what would they rather forget?
