People in Need is one of the largest non-profit organizations in Central Europe. We are currently looking for a colleague for the position of Cyber Security Specialist for our Prague headquarters, specifically for the newly established Cyber Security team.  Join us and use your IT skills in an environment where your work will have meaning and real impact.

We are a newly formed team of IT professionals who specialize in organizational cybersecurity. We provide IT security services to our colleagues in our Prague headquarters, on missions around the world and in regions of the Czech Republic. Our work combines technical know-how with supporting an organization dedicated to development aid, human rights and field work in the Czech Republic.

Who are we looking for?    

Is cybersecurity within IT one of your interests? Are you interested in activities related to the development of information security management systems? Do information security risk assessments, the definition of security standards, the evaluation of cyber incidents and processes such as monitoring and Incident Response mean anything to you? Or at least you have excellent IT knowledge and would like to move towards security issues professionally? Then definitely read on! What we offer:   

  • Employment contract: permanent contract with start date by agreement   

  • Full-time  

  • Form of work: a combination of office work (3 days) and working from home (2 days), up to 50% of working hours after 6 months   

  • Salary: 60 - 65 000 CZK gross per month, depending on your seniority   

  

What will your job entail?  

  • Building and developing the organisation's information security management system under the direction of the Head of Cyber Security;  

  • Identifying and assessing information security risks, preparing mitigation proposals and managing projects related to the implementation of security measures;   

  • Evaluating cyber security incidents;   

  • Definition of security standards and development of internal regulations;    

  • research and selection of available security technologies and management of their implementation;   

  • managing security permissions;   

  • cooperation on building a new team, setting up processes (e.g. monitoring, Incident Response), internal communication, training of colleagues;  

  • providing professional consultations to colleagues in the Czech Republic and abroad;  

  • communication with suppliers of security solutions and IT services.


How do we imagine you?   

  • Experience: you have a broad overview in IT (at least 4 years of experience) and at least 1 year of experience in information security. The position is not suitable for IT beginners.  

  • Knowledge: we need you to be proficient in server and network administration (both Windows and Unix), with advanced administration skills would be a significant advantage.    

  • Education: high school or university degree in a technical field (university degree in information security, programming or systems administration would be a great advantage).  

  • Language skills: knowledge of Czech and English at a communicative level (B2) is a prerequisite, you can communicate effectively and sensitively in both languages even under pressure.  

  • Independence: you can work independently, reliably and are willing to learn new things on your own.   

  • Communication and teamwork: you communicate openly, work actively with the team and are eager to help colleagues.  

  • Benefits: experience in penetration testing and a working knowledge of the most widely used security standards would be appreciated.
