Head of Cybersecurity Department

We are one of the largest non-profit organizations in Central Europe, and we are looking for a head of our young cybersecurity team who is skilled in structuring, organizing, decision-making, and leadership. 

Who Are We Looking For? 

We are seeking someone who will manage cybersecurity across the entire organization, including different departments, regions in the Czech Republic, and international missions around the world. The head of the department is responsible for identifying threats and implementing appropriate measures, handling both long-term security projects and operational responses to current incidents. The role requires clear communication of agreed objectives to management, IT specialists, and regular users alike. We are looking for a capable, proactive, optimistic, and value-driven professional who can take responsibility and wants to leverage their skills and experience.

Who Will You Work With Most Closely? 

The Head of Cybersecurity Department works closely with the Head of IT and reports directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO). He*she will independently communicate with members of the Executive Board as needed, consulting on specific security needs of different sections and implementing agreed measures. Their work spans the entire organization.

 What Do We Offer You?   

• Contract: Permanent 

• Work hours: Full-time 

• Work mode: Combination of office and working from home 

• Start date: No later than January 2025 

• Location: Prague 

What Will You Be Doing? 

• Leading a team of 8 specialists focused on specific security areas; 

• working closely with the IT department head, IT specialists, and specialists on international missions; 

• developing an information security management system and collaborating on the organization's security strategy; 

• evaluating cybersecurity events; 

• identifying, assessing, and managing information security risks, preparing mitigation proposals, and managing projects related to the implementation of security measures; 

• defining security standards and processes, creating internal regulations; 

• raising user awareness of cybersecurity; 

• selecting available security technologies and managing their implementation; 

• monitoring and systematically managing security permissions; 

• providing expert consultation to colleagues in the Czech Republic and on missions; 

• overseeing the financial management of the department and projects (budget planning, cost optimization, tracking and reporting of financial flows, supplier and contract management); 

• communicating with security solution and IT service providers.
