Assessment centre People in Need

Participate in this year's Assessment Centre organised by the Humanitarian and Development Department of People in Need in Prague on 26th and 27th September 2024.

Do you want to find out what it takes to work for People in Need and meet people who have years of experience with this work? Sign up for this year's Assessment Centre (AC), where you will have a variety of group and individual taskscase studies and model situations to solve.

In the Assessment Centre we welcome not only experienced project managers, economists, logisticians or specialists, but also young talents. In short, all those who are close to the field of humanitarian aid and development cooperation, speak English, have a positive attitude towards their surroundings, and are open to cultural differences.

Eventual start date: based on our needs/situation

Contract length: When working abroad, normally 12 months (or shorter depending on the type of position and context); in the case of working at the headquarters in Prague, from one year to permanent

Place of work: People in Need's foreign Country Programmes/headquarters in Prague

Your job could be, for example

  • managing programmes or projects in the humanitarian or development sector
  • overseeing the financial management and accounting of Country Programmes
  • logistics or security management of the mission
  • managing teams of local and expatriate staff
  • identifying needs on the ground and project funding opportunities
  • writing and preparing projects
  • representing the mission/programme to the media, the wider public, authorities and partners

How to apply for this year's AC:

Send us your CV and a cover letter stating why you are interested in working for our organisation in the Humanitarian and Development Department by 15th August 2024 via our application form.

Selection of participants:

 will be conducted by video questionnaires from 16 to 23 August. After this date, we will let all applicants know if they have been selected to participate.

The AC itself will take place

  • 26th September 2024 in the afternoon
  • 27th September 2024 all day in Prague
  • location to be determined.

People in Need will provide small vegetarian meals for participants during the AC, participants will provide their own accommodation.

Individual feedback will be provided to all participants after the AC.
