Azerbaijan: The Repressive Side of the European Olympic Games

With over 80 political prisoners behind bars, Azerbaijan, the host of the ongoing first European Games, has emerged as the region’s worst jailer of dissident voices.
A joint side event at the 29th session of the United Nations Human Rights Security Council will shine light on the country’s dire human rights record.
The event will also feature the opening of a People in Need’s exhibition on Azerbaijani political prisoners.
