Two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela within less than a minute this morning. This has heaped more devastation on a country already grappling with a deep economic, humanitarian, and political crisis.
We have been operating in Venezuela for 12 years and have a network of dozens of local partner organisations in the country. We are currently assessing the scale of the damage, mapping the population's most urgent needs, and preparing humanitarian aid.
To provide instant relief, we have released 1 million CZK (€41,000) from the People in Need Club of Friends fund. At the same time, we are launching the SOS Venezuela Emergency Appeal, which will allow us to quickly increase our aid .
